　　基本情况
　　教授、博士生导师，上海外国语大学图书馆馆长、《国际观察》主编，中国国际关系学会常务理事，中国高校国际政治研究会常务理事，上海国际关系学会常务理事，复旦大学美国研究中心学术委员会副主任、韩国研究中心特邀研究员，同济大学国际政治研究所高级研究员。
　　1982年毕业于复旦大学历史系，获历史学学士学位。毕业后留复旦大学历史系任教。期间考取近代中外关系方向在职研究生，获历史学硕士学位。1993年1月调上海外国语大学，在国际问题研究所从事教学和研究工作，1996年～2006年担任国际问题研究所所长。1998年8月至1999年8月，美国马里兰大学国际与安全研究中心富布赖特高级访问学者。2001年3月至4月，日本庆应大学法学院国际交流学者。2001年11月，台湾“中央研究院东北亚区域研究”访问学者。2002年6月至2003年4月，香港大学美国研究中心访问学者。2005年3月日本学术振兴会国际交流学者。2001 年和2004年上海市育才奖。
　　主要从事中美关系、中俄关系、中西文化关系的教学和研究。担任国际关系专业中外关系方向和外交学专业当代中国外交方向硕士生导师，国际关系专业中国对外关系方向博士生导师。承担 “新时期中西文化关系研究”（国家社科基金项目）、“中国和日本对西方文化关系比较研究”（日本欧姆龙国际教育基金资助项目）、 “中美关系史”（校研究生教材基金项目）等科研项目。主要出版物有《从望厦条约到克林顿访华》 （合著，1998年获上海市哲学社会科学优秀学术著作三等奖）；《从尼布楚条约到叶利钦访华》( 合著，1997年获上海党史学会优秀学术著作奖)；《晚清史》（合著，包括该书在内的《二十五史新编》1998年获中国国家图书奖、上海市哲学社会科学优秀学术著作二等奖）等。
