江西科技师范大学外国语学院简介正文

外国语学院源起于1977年成立的英语系,2012年正式成立为外国语学院。经过多年的积淀和近年来快速发展,学院各项事业取得了长足进展。
学院现有6个系部(英语专业、日语专业、英语翻译专业、商务英语专业、法语专业和大学英语教学部六个部门);5个本科专业(英语专业、日语专业、英语翻译专业、商务英语专业、法语专业);3个硕士专业(学科教学-英语方向、翻译专业、比较文学和世界文学专业)。教师任教的语种有英语、法语、俄语、西班牙语、日语。
学院现有教职员工138人,教授 9 人,副教授30人,具有博士学位教师6人,具有硕士学位的老师112人。江西省高校中青年学科带头人2人,江西省高校中青年骨干教师4人,江西省高校哲学社会科学骨干教师1人,江西省“新世纪百千万人才工程”入选1人,学校师德标兵2人。具有国际教育背景教师50余人,外籍教师8人,学院还聘请了部分国外专家为兼职教授。
学院成立了4个学科方向研究团队:外国文学研究团队,翻译理论与实践研究团队,英语教育研究团队,外国语言学及应用语言学研究团队。近年来,学院教师主持教育部、省级和校级课题50余项,参与国家级课题2项;在CSSCI期刊和其他核心期刊发表论文300余篇,出版专著、译著和自编教材近30余部。科研成果获省部级奖项5项,获省教学成果奖和校级教学成果奖项9项,获省级教师教学能力比赛奖项5项。教师参加全国、省内及学校各类多媒体、微课比赛获各类奖项12项。
学院拥有先进的教学仪器设备,丰富的文字和声像外语教学参考资料。校内外实践基地利用率高,1个48座同声传译实训室,20余个外语语言实验室,2个网络外语自主学习实验室,1个外语影视实训室,2个外语电台。校外实习基地20个(其中师范实习基地10个,应用专业实习基地10个)。
学院现有在读学生1827人,其中硕士研究生80人,本科学生1080人,专科学生667人。大学英语教学部承担全校非外语专业2万余名学生大学英语教学。
学院坚持以普通师范教育为主,协调发展应用型人才的办学指导思想,实施“校企合作、校校合作、小班精英,网络课程、以赛促学、分级教学等教学模式改革,近年来学生学习效果显著,连续5年在全国大学生英语竞赛和赣江杯英语竞赛中获专业团体一、二、三等奖,个人获省级特等奖和一等奖120余项;在“外研社杯”举办的演讲、写作和阅读比赛中获全国三等奖2人,省级特等奖2人,省级一等奖10人。学科竞赛成绩斐然。日语专业、翻译专业和商务英语竞赛团体奖在崭露头角。学生就业率一直名列学校前列,为国家和江西省培养了一大批优秀的建设人才,他们当中许多已经成为各自行业和单位的骨干力量,受到社会的广泛好评。
A Brief Introduction to the School of Foreign Languages
The School of Foreign Languages originated from the English Department established in 1977 and officially got her current name in 2012. After so many years’ development and rapid development in recent years in particular, the school has made great progress in various aspects.
The school has 6 departments all together, namely English major, Japanese major, English translation major, business English major, French major and college English teaching department). There are 5 undergraduate majors (English major, Japanese major, English translation major, business English major, French major), and 3 postgraduate programs (discipline teaching - English, MTI, comparative literature and world literature). The languages taught are English, French, Russian, Spanish, and Japanese.
The school has 138 faculty members, including 9 professors, 30 associate professors, 6 teachers with PhD degree, and 112 teachers with master's degree. There are 2 provincial young and middle-aged English discipline foregoers, 4 provincial young and middle-aged backbone teachers, 1 provincial backbone teacher in philosophy and social science in higher education, and 1 provincial expert of the “New Century National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project”, and 2  Teachers of Best Professional Ethics in this university. There are more than 50 teachers with background of receiving international education, and 8 foreign teachers. The school has also hired some foreign experts as part-time professors.
What’s more, it has built up 4 research teams covering foreign literature, translation, English education, foreign linguistics and applied linguistics. In recent years, teachers undertook and participated in more than 50 projects of various levels, and have published over 300 articles in CSSCI journals and other core journals, and almost 30 academic books, translations and textbooks. We have won 5 provincial and ministerial awards, 9 provincial teaching achievement awards and school-level teaching achievement awards, and 5 provincial teacher teaching competition awards. Besides, teachers actively participated in various multimedia and micro-class competitions of different levels, won 12 awards.
The school enjoys the advantages in teaching facilities, rich text and audio-visual foreign language teaching reference materials. The utilization rate of the internship bases is relatively  high, and there are a modernized 48-seat English-Chinese simultaneous interpretation lab, over 20 language labs,  2 website foreign language self-study labs, a foreign language movie house, and  2 foreign language radio stations. Besides, the school has  20 internship bases (including 10 teacher training bases and 10 professional internship bases).
The school currently has 1827 students, including 80 graduate students, 1080 undergraduate students and 667 college students. The College English Teaching Department undertakes college English teaching for more than 20,000 non-foreign language majors in this university.
The school adheres to the principle of taking the general teacher education as the main orientation, coordinating the development of talents of expertise, and implements various teaching reforms, including the school-enterprise cooperation, school-school cooperation, small-scale elite online courses, competitions for learning, and graded teaching, and the learning effect of the students is remarkable. For the fifth consecutive year, we won the first, second and third group prizes in the National College English Contest and the Ganjiang Cup English Contest. The individuals won more than 120 provincial special prizes and the first prizes. In the “FLTRP Cup” speech, writing and reading contests, we won 2 national third prizes, 2 provincial special prizes and 10 provincial first prizes. The students’ performance in various foreign language contests is outstanding. Students in the Japanese major, translation major and business English major are emerging in getting group awards. The employment rate of graduates has always been among the top within the university, and has cultivated a large number of outstanding construction talents for the country and Jiangxi Province. Many of them have become the backbone of their respective industries and units, and have been widely praised and welcome by the society.

Great Events for the School of Foreign Languages
The School of Foreign Languages of Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University was founded in 1977 with the base of the English Department of Jiangxi Normal University (Nanchang Branch).
In 1977, three-year college students (English normal education) were enrolled for the first time.
In 1997, English undergraduates (normal education) were enrolled for the first time.
In 2004, English major (normal education) became the provincial undergraduate brand.
In 2005, Japanese undergraduates were enrolled for the first time.
In 2012, postgraduate students for a master's degree in English education were enrolled.
In 2015, postgraduate students for a master's degree in English language education were enrolled.
In 2015, undergraduates of business English were enrolled for the first time.
In 2017, 3-year programs of Japanese language were terminalized.
In 2017, French language undergraduates were enrolled for the first time.
Postgraduate students for a master's degree in MIT and a master's degree in comparative literature will be enrolled in 2019.
