湖南省“海外名师”项目专家,湖南农业大学“神农学者”讲座教授,博士生导师,硕士生导师。美国塞缪尔. 诺贝尔基金会教授,牧草改良中心主任(DivisionDirector),《In Vitro Cellular and Developmental Biology – Plant》和《Crop Science》副主编。主要从事高羊茅、紫花苜蓿、蒺藜苜蓿、柳枝稷等植物基因工程和遗传改良研究,相关成果在NatureBiotechnology,PNAS,PlantCell,PlantJournal、PlantPhysiology、NewPhytologist等杂志发表。2015年6月荣获美国“离体生物学杰出科学家奖”。
